At Maple Bear, we are firmly grounded in the belief that quality Canadian education can bring positive change to the world. It is in this spirit of doing our part as responsible corporate citizens that we are pleased to announce the Briggs-Pascoe Family Global Education Fund.
We are dedicated to helping our students become lifelong learners, and we recognize that a strong start supported by early childhood education is critical in building the foundation that will allow children to become passionate about learning.
But access to high-quality education can be an obstacle for many families, in particular during this time where the world continues to struggle in varying degrees with the effects of the pandemic.
OPENING DOORS FOR STUDENTS OTHERWISE UNABLE TO AFFORD OUR HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION
After a challenging period brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic, setbacks in household incomes, social disconnection and learning deficits – particularly among early learners – are the unfortunate yet undeniable impacts the pandemic has had on our parents and families. A supportive fund such as this comes at a time when parents and families are keen to support their children’s growth and have access to quality education in our rapidly evolving world.
The Briggs-Pascoe Family Global Education Fund will be open to high-potential children, aged 4 to 6 years of age in participating Maple Bear regions around the globe, whose family’s economic circumstances prevent them from attending a Maple Bear school in their local country.
This fund provides an inspirational opportunity for new Maple Bear students who would otherwise not be able to afford this world-renowned educational program. Eligible students will receive up to $2,500 CAD towards their tuition fees from the fund.
A small number of Maple Bear regions will offer this scholarship in time for the September 2021 school year start, with a formal roll-out to all of our remaining countries in 2022.
This legacy gift from the Briggs-Pascoe family keeps with the Maple Bear culture and brand its Founders have created, where giving back to Maple Bear communities around the globe continues to guide the company’s long-term operations.
